The Beginning of ‘Your Westy Divas’ and Heaven Group Dance…
April 2006 – ‘Your Westy Divas’ was created by Miss Beverly Buttercup and her fellow cast members Marcia Monterey, Brandi Alexander, and Lola Del Arte. The group debuted their fabulous, colorful, and exciting show at Diamonds & Pearls Social Dance at Moorebank Sports Club. After a successful year, Beverly Buttercup decided it was time for a change. This led to the relocation of ‘Your Westy Divas’ to the well-known gay & lesbian friendly venue, The Parramatta Club.
April 2007 – Heaven Social Group was founded by Miss Beverly Buttercup and the ‘Westy Divas’. That same year, the group won ‘Best Dressed Group’ at the 2007 Mardi Gras Parade. Heaven Social Group supported the Western Suburbs Haven, providing services to people living with HIV/AIDS in Western Sydney. The Parramatta Club hosted Heaven Social Group on the 4th Saturday of every month and PASH (another GLBT dance) on the 2nd Saturday.
June 2007 – Opening Night at The Parramatta Club on 23rd June 2007 saw over 180 attendees. In August 2007, Brandi Alexander retired from drag and was replaced by the lovely Tina Swallows. DJ Joal & Geoff joined the team after DJ Kezza’s departure.
December 2007 – Heaven & PASH were notified that The Parramatta Club would close down, ending PASH and relocating Heaven to The Rosehill Bowling Club from January 2008. The new venue showcased ‘Legends of Music’, featuring Beverly Buttercup, Marcia Monterey, Lola Del Arte, Tina Swallows, and Jessika Grabbit, along with special guests.
October 2008 – Marcia Monterey and Tina Swallows resigned from ‘Your Westy Divas’, with Gracie Lou stepping up to assist Beverly in 2009 helping running the night and February 2009 Heaven relocated to NORTHMEAD BOWLING CLUB – THE NBC SPORTS CLUB on every second Saturday of every second month as from 9th February 2009.
August 2009 – Heaven’s ‘Star Search’ aimed to find a fabulous new performer to join ‘Your Westy Divas’. LayDee KinMee won and joined the cast in October 2009, along with DJ Dan.
July 2010 – Beverly Buttercup took over run KALEIDOSCOPE Social Dance at The Parramatta Golf Club with Ian Stumbles, with some awesome performers , Sandy, Fifi, Eliza, Wilhemine and many more over the 4 years of running. The night ran until December 2014, raising over $7,863 for Acon & Western Suburbs Haven Inc …
2010 – The name changed from a group to a social dance
December 2011 – ‘Your Westy Divas’ ended after nearly three years. In 2012 and Ian Stumbles and DJ Shaft joined the team to help run Heaven Social Dance in Dec 2011. The dance’s welcomed numerous fabulous performers over the 3 years then we changed a few things to crate variety in 2015. May 2015 – Heaven introduced “Pop Up Drag” allowing local queens to win cash and prizes. LayDee KinMee won an ACE Award for her ‘Drags to Bitches’ Show and returned to help run Heaven in 2016.
February 2017 – Heaven Social Dance Re-located to MOUNTIES BOWING CLUB – FAIRFIELD on the first Saturday of every second month as of The 04 February 2017! October 2017 – the final ‘Pop Up Drag’ was presented. Beverly formed a Committee in 2018 to help run the dance from 2018 to 2024.
2018 – 2019 – Heaven hosted DRAG FACTOR 2018 to find new show cast members. Heaven’s 11th Birthday Party & Charity Night in June 2018 raised over $1,800. In December 2018, Heaven presented their annual World Aid’s Day RED PARTY #7, raising $2,095. Ian Stumbles passed away in December 2018. Ian will be missed by all.
15 June 2019 – Heaven’s 12th Birthday Party & BGF Charity Night Raised over $2,620. In January 2020, ‘Dragging up the past’ brought together many past performers.
14 March 2020 – The first Pride Pageant ‘Sashed Out West’ took place. We had 7 fabulous entrants present Mardi Gras Pride and perform for our wonderful, loyal patrons. Judged by Gracie Lou, Miranda Fair and Sandy Bottom with five contestants going through to the Finals!! and winning a share of $800 , Due to COVID-19, dances were canceled and rescheduled multiple times.
NOTICE JULY 2020 – Dances canceled DUE TO COVID 19 = 09 May 20, 11 June 13th Birthday/Charity, 12 Sep 20 , 14 Nov 2020 and 30 Jan 2021 and the 1st night back on 27 Mar 2021… Then Canceled the 31st JULY 14th Birthday/Charity and the 25 Sep 20 , 24 Oct 20 and then back on 27 Nov 21.
Pride Pageant – Grand final on the 29 May 21 With Dixie Normous 1st $400, Jenna Fluid 2nd $200, Bella Rose 3rd $100 and runners up Crystal Ball $50 and Lisa Ashford $50 at Mounties Bowls
2021 – Heaven Social Dance planned to return on 27 March 2021 but faced ongoing COVID-19 restrictions at Cabra Bowls Club, with our 15th Birthday/Charity night planned on the 05 August 23 Raising $3000 for BGF on 05 Aug 2023 , then followed by Transtastic #2 on 04 Nov 23..
it’s been a bumpy ride ; on the 30 Jan 22 Mounties Bowls Club = CLUB CLOSED , Back on 30 Mar 22 good night.. and then CLUB COSED on 28 May , and the our 15th Birthday/Charity for Twenty10 on the 02 July 22 Raising $3300 a BIG NIGHT, then 03 Sep 22, 05 Nov 2022..
IN 2022 = We went to pre-sold tickets online Due to Covid restrictions and traceability purposes but has worked in our favour as this GUARANTEES the dance’s will go ahead as we need a minimum 70 people to buy pre-sold tickets per dance.. (Dj Hire $250 & Entertainment Budget $500 each dance, This is a disclaimer or HSD is Not for profit private function from HSD Committee/Beverly Buttercup )
2023 NEW START , 04 Feb , 06 May and HSD 16th Birthday/Charity on 05 Aug 2023 Raising $3000 for BGF and then 11 Nov 23..
03 Feb 2024 Dance Canceled (refund 53 tickets) and then the committee was informed of renovations taking place at Cabra Bowls Club for a couple of months so Beverly went the search foe a new venue heaven in March/April 24, On the 13 April 24 Featured “Dragtastic Divas” its was last dance at Cabra Bowls Club … and the committee was dissolved in Apr/May 2024 with Melicious and Gracie leaving Heaven to start their own dance somewhere in June 2024..
May/June 2024 – Beverly Buttercup formed a New Team/Volunteers and relocated to a new club ” The Lansvale United Sports Club ” to keep Heaven running, bringing in different entertainers and volunteers. Upcoming events include the 6 July 17th Birthday/89.3fm Charity night raising $3030 on the night for. 89.3fm and on the 28 Sep, The Green Party in memory of Karen Raising $ 2680 and then on 23 Nov 2024 Heaven Xmas Party.. Next Year Australia Day weekend with Sandy , Sonia & Jace on the 25 Jan 25 , 22 Mar 25 Featured ”Buttercup 33 Birthday Party” (drag years) ...
24 May 25 We’re Moving Back to the Cabra Bowls Club After there renovations with the club waived the function fee for our dances so we can give more away to charity and provide a small show budget so see to at our 18th Birthday/Blue Party for Beyond Blue Raising $2850. and then on 19 July 25 LayDee’s 16th Birthday Ho-Down, 27 Sep 25 Live intimate/Sand-Up Comedy Show at 9pm + Transtastic #3 at 10pm &11 pm & 22 Nov 25 RED Party #8 fro BGF Raising $3055 ….
07 Feb 26 – Dance Featured ”Dragging With The Stars” by LayDee KinMee a Competition with the grand final on 11 Apr 25 with 12 (?) fabulous contestants for share of over $1000 cash and paid booking on 01 Aug 26… We will invite winners back to participate in our 19th Birthday/Haven Charity on the 13 June 26… Then one of our favourite performers will put a show together on the 10 Oct 26 Then finishing up the year with a Xmas/Party/Charity Night on the 12 Dec 26 only with your support.
